circular form, spot-hammered decoration, one initialled ED and numbered 2 to the underside, the other initialled S beneath an Earl's coronet, diameter 21.8cm, approx. weight 12.5cm. (2)
Provenance: A Private Collection.
The plate initialled ED was possibly made as part of a set for Alice Amherst's sister-in-law Elinor Denison.
A similar plate initialled S was sold in Bonhams Edinburgh, Dunrobin Attic sale, 20th April 2021, lot 182.
