An Edwardian 18 carat gold and enamel mayor's badge,

by Abrahall and Bint, Birmingham 1901, retailed by Harry Moine, Blackburn,

oval laurel wreath form, applied with an inscription within a band of blue enamel decoration, crossed by a mace and pike, applied with an enamelled shield of the arms of Blackburn, mounted with a bird, mounted with the Prince of Wales feathers, the reverse inscribed 'Sir W. H. Hornby, Bart M.P, Mayor 1901-2', with a blue ribbon, in a fitted case, length 7cm, approx. weight 46.6g.
