A Victorian silver vinaigrette,
by Edward Smith, Birmingham 1848,
rectangular form, with bands of engine-turned decoration, the cover with a crest of two shaking hands, the interior with a silver-gilt pierced and engraved foliate scroll grille, length 4.2cm, approx. weight 0.8oz.
The crest is that of Alexander, Buchanan, Haulton and others.
