China War Medal

China War Medal, 1841-42 (William Bailey, Lieut., H.M.S.Vixen), unofficial suspension ring with scrolled mounts to top and bottom of ribbon. The medal has been brooch mounted damaging obverse at left and right sides, fine. HMS Vixen, 6-gun cruiser with crew of 138; a wood paddle sloop, launched 1841, sold 1862.
