An 18th century silver-mounted leather mug
An 18th century silver-mounted leather mug,
maker's mark only, that of IP, circa 1750,
tapering circular form, leaf capped scroll handle, the silver mount with an engraved wavy-edge border, the front applied with a scroll cartouche and engraved with an armorial, silver lined, height 18.8cm.
The armorial is that of Gale of Scruton, Yorkshire.
