rectangular form, the front and back with enamelled plaques of buildings, the sides with foliate panels, acanthus leaf border, the front enamelled with the arms of Rochdale, the reverse with a presentation inscription, the pull-off cover with a figure of a lady, with two enamelled red Tudor roses, and with an enamelled crest, on a shaped rectangular base, mounted with two recumbent lions, the interior with a presentation scroll from the Borough of Rochdale, length of casket 25.5cm, total length on stand 45cm,
