A late 19th century Russian square cigarette case, decorated with numerous applied emblems/motifs, including some enamel and some gold, each to represent an event or stage in the life of the owner (an electric light bulb, a first war iron cross, a pair of women's knickerbockers, etc`), with a partly obscured inscription 'Uni 1889? - 31st December 1890', by Grachev, St Petersburg, circa 1890, 3.5in (9cm), 6oz.
