A novelty silver pencil,

maker's mark of H.G and S Ltd, also marked .925 an S twice, in two separate punches,

modelled as a butter knife, foliate pistol-grip handle, the blade with foliate decoration and inscribed 'With the Compliments of the Phoenix Insurance Co. of Hartford, Xmas 1906, length 11.2cm.
