A Victorian silver regimental presentation table bell

A Victorian silver regimental presentation table bell, by Gibson and Langman, London 1899, conventional form, the tapering handle with a Sphinx finial and laurel leaf decoration, the bell applied with the badge of The Queen's Regiment, and engraved with various battle honours, also inscribed, ' presented by Captain H.R. Bottomley to The Officers 2nd Bat. The Queen's on Promotion, 29th September 1898' and with a later inscription, 'Presented to Major R.C.G Foster, M.C, by The Queen's Royal Regiment in gratitude for his services as Regimental Historian, 13th October 1959', height 18cm, approx. weight 20oz.
