A five-piece 19th century Russian silver tea and coffee set, by Pavel Savikov, Moscow 1869, assay master Viktor Savinkov, comprising a coffee pot, a teapot, a slops bowl, a sugar bowl and a cream jug, tapering circular form, engraved with a Greek key border and stylised decoration, domed hinged covers with urn finials, initialled, height of coffee pot 20.8cm, diameter of bowl 18cm, approx. weight 62oz. (5) Provenance: by family repute this set was given to the a relation of the vendor by the Tsar, when she worked as a governess to the Russian Royal family before the revolution.
