A Henry VIII silver Maidenhead spoon,
maker's mark of a fringed S, for William Simpson, London 1532,
fig-shaped bowl, the reverse of the bowl with a 19th century crest, tapering faceted stem with a Maidenhead finial, with very faint traces of gilding, the reverse of the bowl with an old collection label, length 15.4cm, approx. weight 1.1oz.
