We are delighted to present our two-day Silver & Objects of Vertu summer sale, taking place on Tuesday 16th & Wednesday 17th July 2024. 

Featured in Day Two is lot 696, a pair of George III Royal presentation silver wine coolers, by Robert Garrard, London 1804, presented by Queen Charlotte to her physician in ordinary, Sir Francis Milman. The wine coolers were acquired shortly after World War II from a descendant of Sir Francis by Sir William Clayton Russon. They have subsequently passed through the same family and will be offered in the auction on the 17th July. Two other lots, from a separate Private Collection, also with Royal connections to Queen Charlotte, will also be included in day two; a George III Royal presentation silver-gilt covered mug (lot 607), and a George III Royal presentation silver salver (lot 608), both presented by Queen Charlotte to Mrs Louisa Cheveley, a sub-governess to the Princesses of George III and Queen Charlotte, and a nurse to Prince Ernest and Prince Alfred.

Other highlights include, a Private Collection of Omar Ramsden (lots 519-536), a rare George III duty draw-back silver tea caddy, by Hester Bateman together with a George III silver caddy spoon by the same maker (lot 667), a pair of Victorian silver-gilt sauce tureens and covers (lot 687), of an unusual design in the Rococo manner, and two pieces by Hiroshi Suzuki, contemporary Japanese silversmith (lots 517 & 518).
