A 19th century silver filigree casket
A 19th century silver filigree casket,
unmarked,
rectangular form, canted corners, the hinged cover and sides with foliate scroll filigree decoration, and applied with filigree rosettes, (one missing), the cover with an oval glass covered cartouche with an oval panel inscribed 'Made by N.J. Alexander, 4 High St. Eton Windsor 1876' and 'Heather, from the Makers Grand-Daughter', the front inscribed 'Adele', the front with three clasps, on four ball feet, length 23cm, approx. weight 17.8oz.
