Vinicius Les is a Romanian-born ceramicist and painter who lives in London. His work revolves around organic forms that explore the idea that nature is innately and profoundly abstract. Les is influenced by the natural world, and his work often features organic shapes and textures. He uses traditional clay working methods and instinctive form modelling to create his work, which he says is an attempt to create in the same way that nature does. Les' work has been exhibited in Europe and the UK and is held in private collections across the world. He regularly leads ceramic workshops for beneficiaries in Horatio’s Garden. This series of wheel thrown porcelain bowls celebrates imperfection in a society so obsessed by reaching perfection or by hiding the intention to perfection. The fine porcelain is fired at 1250C with glazed black outside and gold lustred inside.
