A Waterloo Medal 1815 to Private Charles Horsnail, 2nd Battalion 69th (South Lincolnshire) Regiment of Foot, iron clip suspension with later split ring (CHARLES HORSNAIL, 2ND BATT. 69TH REG. FOOT ), very fine or better.

The recipient served in Captain Curzon's Company. This regiment suffered heavy casualties at the Battle of Quatre Bras following an order from the Prince of Orange for them to form line in the presence of enemy cavalry. They nevertheless fought with distinction two days later at Waterloo.
