John Rigby & Co.: a .297/250 side lever hammer rook rifle, serial number 4006, stepped profile round barrel 26 in. with faceted breech section inscribed 'JOHN RIGBY & Co 43 SACKVILLE STREET LONDON W.', one standing and two folding leaf back sights marked for 50, 100 and 200 yards, colour hardened action with scroll engraving, rebounding hammer, chequered walnut stock with horn fore-end cap and Prince of Wales grip; fitted with a telescopic sight in claw mounts, the tube engraved with Rigby's details and the lower mounting ring numbered to the rifle; all in a later fitted case with glassoil bottle. Section 58(2) -no licence required if possessed as a curiosity or ornament.
