An early 19th century military sword, curved blade 26.5 in., British inspection mark of '1' beneath a crown; gilt brass hilt in the French manner, the angled flaring pommel terminating in a lion mask, half back strap with scale and shell moulding, the curved and fluted quillons with lobed finials, double link knuckle chain; brass scabbard, possibly a bandsman's sword.
