United States of America: the Vietnam War Silver Star Medal attributable to Specialist William H. White, Company D, 20th Engineer Battalion, United States Army, in case of issue with ribbon bar and lapel badge, good extremely fine; together with four copies of the recomendation for this award; and the Presidential Memorial Certificate in respect of this man, issued during the presidency of James Carter.

The recommendation describes in detail an incident on the 4th June 1968, during which White's unit came under heavy fire. He responded with a skillful counter attack that exposed him to great danger. His gallant conduct enabled his unit to hold off the attack until reinforcements arrived.
