Attested in November 1925 as a Boy Soldier (trumpeter) at 14 years, and joined the regular army at 18 years. Posted to Gibraltar with the 1st Fortress Company in March 1939, and returned to the UK with the rank of Company Sergeant Major in October 1942. Offered with much research.
