Two French military swords: the first with pipe-backed blade 29.75 in., spine with arsenal marking in cursive script (indistinct, possibly Klingenthal), brass hilt similar to the model 1845, the outer guard decorated in relief with a wreath of oak and laurel against a stand of arms, ribbed horn grip, steel scabbard with single loose ring; the second a model 1882 infantry officer's sword, the lenticular-section blade with offset fullers and privately etched with the dedication 'A SON NEVEU DE BONNAVENTURE / LA PROMOTION DES DRAPEAUX', marked for Châtellerault 1913, four bar hilt, steel scabbard.
