An Indian jade hilted dagger (khanjar)
An Indian jade hilted dagger (khanjar), flamboyant double edged blade 9.5 in. with two broad fullers forming a medial ridge to each side, reinforced forte, green jade hilt of tiger's head form with a steel collar, steel mounted leather covered scabbard partly covered by a large embroidered frog and belt loop.
Purported provenance: from the widow of fighter ace and famous test pilot Squadron Leader Neville Duke, D.S.O., O.B.E., D.F.C. and two bars, A.F.C.; who was presented with this dagger by the Maharaja of Swat for flying in a Hawker Fury from London to Karachi in 1949.
