M.M. London Gazette: 11/12/1918. The timing suggests an action in late July/early August 1918, perhaps during the early days of the Battle of Amiens. The 9th DLI war diary list 33 M.M. recipients, including Watts, 26/08/1918 The previous major action having been in the area of the Bois de Reims and Maisonette 20-23/07/1918.
Born 16/05/1896 in Boyne, County Durham and worked as a coal miner before the war. Offered with research.
