A British flintlock cavalry carbine of Paget type by Egg, .66 caliber sighted barrel 16 in., marked 'D. Egg London', private tower proof marks; border engraved lock signed 'D. EGG', flat ring necked cock, lacking the safety bolt usually found on this type; full stock with brass furniture including trigger guard with squared off terminal, side nail cups, no sling bar, captive steel ram rod. Presumably a commercial variant of the Paget Carbine for volunteer use.
