Entered France 20th May 1915. Wounded and discharged as no longer physically fit for war service 5th August 1916. The same man seems to appear in the 1911 census aged 15 and working as a shop assistant.. Furthermore research suggests that he served with the Merchant Navy in the Second World War as well.
