H.M.S. Glasgow (1936): a gangway ornament from the Southampton Class Cruiser, cast iron badge depicting St Kentigern, mounted to a large wooden shield with a brass presentation plaque: 'Presented by the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to the 9th District Council of the County of Lanarkshire to commemorate the adoption of H.M.S. Glasgow during Warship Week may 16th-23rd 1942, 53 x 42 cm (badge only)
At this point in the war H.M.S. Glasgow had seen much action, including operations in support of the Norwegian campaign, and service in the Mediterranean and the Far East.
