An Indian sword (tulwar or shamshir), Persian blade of watered steel 34.5 in., gold inlaid text to a cartouche, chased roundel depicting a stylised lion; North Indian silver gilt hilt of typical form with short quillons and disc pommel, richly chased with foliate decoration; later velvet covered scabbard, sword late 18th/ early 19th Century.
