λ A Japanese ivory mounted dagger (tanto), blade 11 in., ubu-zukuri; ivory mounts consisting of: tsuka and saya contructed in sections, profusely and finely carved with cranes in a natural setting, and with representations of fittings including a kurigata; and two seppa, the tsuba being absent, c. 1900, blade possibly earlier.
