An Austrian model 1849 infantry officer's sword with moving bar hilt, slightly curved pipe-back blade 32.5 in., marked 'P.D.L.' for Luneschloss of Solingen; steel stirrup hilt with unusual configuration of two (rather than one) folding bars held in place by a sprung mechanism, fluted details to the guard and back strap, leather wrapped grip; steel scabbard; a non-regulation pattern that is more commonly encountered with a single folding bar.
