A Japanese sword (shingunto), blade 26.25 in., hon-zukuri, silvered habaki with neko-gaki; regulation army mountings, the steel saya with leather field cover.

Provenance: property of the late Major T.S. Ware M.C., 1st Battalion, 1st Punjab Regiment, and believed by his family to have been a wartime surrender item. Major Ware was awarded the M.C. for the Arakan Campaign.
