Ireland, Thomas Stoney of Arran Hill (1748-1826), a promissory note, one pound, two shillings and nine pence, unsigned and undated, three strong folds, otherwise extremely fine.
Thomas Stoney was the brother of Andrew Robinson Stoney, Anglo-Irish adventurer and miscreant, from whom, it is believed, derives the term 'Stoney Broke'.
