Two medals to Captain Brooke Boyd, 68th Bengal Native Infantry: Sutlej Medal 1845-46, Sobraon reverse (LIEUT B: BOYD 68TH REGT N:I:), impressed, some edge bruising and scratching to the reverse field, good very fine; India Medal 1849-95, clasp: Pegu (CAPTN BROOKE BOYD 68TH REGT N.I.), impressed, nearly extremely fine; each with an engraved silver ribbon brooch. [2]

The son of General Mossom Boyd (1781-1865), Brooke Boyd entered the Indian service in 1834 and became a Lieutenant in 1836, seeing service against the Bhils in Malwa. Captain 1846, Major 1855, Lieutenant Colonel 1858, Colonel 1866, Major General 1871, Lieutenant General 1877 and General in 1888. He died in St Leonards-on-Sea in 1900.
