A Belle Epoque padparadscha sapphire and diamond ring, c.1910, the cushion shaped sapphire displaying light orange colour and is millegrain set with small diamonds in platinum. Approx. 10.4 x 9.25 x 6.36mm deep. The term padparadscha derives from the Sinhalese for lotus blossom. These sapphires are mined in Sri-Lanka and larger stones are now rare.
