A Victorian seed pearl and enamel mourning brooch, circa 1893, of heart-shaped outline, the front with a glazed compartment centring on the initial S beneath a Viscount's coronet, accented with seed pearls, to a ground of blue enamel bordered by white enamel, within a beaded gold frame, the reverse with a glazed compartment containing a lock of hair, surrounded by the dedicatory inscription 'In memory of James David, Viscount Strathallan, born Sept 23 1839 died Decr 5 1893', length 2.5cm
