Our autumn jewellery auction on October 25th – 26th, and final jewellery sale of the year includes a vast selection antique and modern jewellery to suit all tastes.
Highlights within the auction include (lot 1097) a spectacular multigem and enamel brooch attributed to Maynier et Pinçon, circa 1925, one of the most prestigious but least-known Art Deco jewellers who manufactured for Boucheron, Linzeler Marchak and Marzo, making this a particularly rare find.
For watch enthusiasts and collectors of signed jewellery, we have a rare and interesting ‘Monte Bague Navette’ keyless ring watch by Cartier (lot 1096), circa 1920, with a visible movement.
There are examples of fine sapphire rings from Sri Lanka, Burma and Kashmir including lot 1095 a large star sapphire weighing in excess of 50.00cts from Sri Lanka (unheated) and lot 1042 a 4.87ct (unheated) Kashmir sapphire in a diamond-set mount.
Lot 1093 is a 2.94ct diamond solitaire ring by Cartier, with HRD certification, just one example of many engagement / diamond-set rings within this auction.
A superb Art Nouveau tortoiseshell haircomb by Falize Frères (lot 1094) is an exceptionally rare (and festive) highlight; decorated with realistically modelled mistletoe in a gold, with opal beads.
Included in the auction is the jewellery collection of the late Robin Hambro (lots 538 – 586) an impressive selection of mostly gold jewellery including a diamond ring by Chaumet, and pair of Elizabeth Gage earrings, all to be sold without reserve. Also for post-war collectors there is a rare and large watermelon tourmaline pendant by Andrew Grima (lot 867) as well and a pair of interchangeable door knocker earrings by Van Cleef & Arpels (lot 880) a Taurus zodiac charm by Cartier (lot 885), a pair of gem-set scroll earrings by Boucheron (lot 889) and a Mauboussin diamond necklace (lot 883).
