A fine enamel and diamond brooch, late 18th century, of octagonal outline, centring on a glazed compartment with a scene of Cupid accompanied by a heart in a row boat out at sea, the words 'un entre mille' ('one in a thousand') spelled in seed pearls in the deep blue enamel sky above, within outer borders of blue enamel and cushion-shaped diamonds, mounted in silver and gold, measuring 3.4 x 2.2cm
