An 8^th century Caucasian/Bulgarian bronze buckle, circular and centred with a gold collet set cabochon blue stone, probably glass, within a gold disc with circular decoration and set with four further blue discs and gold border of triangular mounted red stone sections, probably garnet with three bosses engraved with concentric circles, engraved hinged buckle, 9cm wide (including buckle) and 7.2cm high, gold tests as 22ct
