An 8th century Caucasian/Bulgarian bronze belt buckle, circular and probably centred with a toadstone mounted in raised gold collet on a decorated circular gold centre piece, within a gold border of triangular garnets, joined to the hinged buckle with a rectangular section decorated with coloured glass, 17.3cm wide (including buckle), 6.2cm high the gold tests as 22ct.
