We are delighted to present our Spring Fine Jewellery auction, which comprises just under 500 lots, including historic and exceptional jewels.
An unmissable lot is 493, the pair of Van Cleef & Arpels natural pearl and diamond earrings. Dated c.1950, their elegant design closely relates them to a pair of earrings beloved by one of the most iconic couples in history, HSH Prince Rainer III of Monaco and Grace Kelly. Two Arts & Crafts pieces, lots 434 & 435, will be offered, a multi-gem bracelet and a multi-gem brooch. Dunlop's use of semi-precious stones enabled her to create the 'carpet of gems' appearance for which she is best known.
We are also pleased to be offering three Private Collections in the sale, including The Private Collection of the late Michael and Margaret Susands. Spanning over a century, this collection showcases in its variety the sheer creativity of jewellery production in the 19th century. We are also fortunate to be offering an iconic Rolex model, lot 488, and an impressive diamond ring, the central diamond weighing 5.65cts, lot 490.
Exceptional emeralds are also highlights of our sale. Emeralds have long been a favourite stone in our department, and we were proud to offer in April 2023 the superb Victorian 5.66ct emerald and diamond bangle, which sold for £500,000. Featured are a pair of emerald and diamond drop earrings, which the Victorian bangle and these upcoming earrings are set with emeralds that show no indication of clarity enhancement. The final two lots of the sale, 494, an early 19th century 3.91ct emerald and diamond brooch, and 495, a fine 8.112ct emerald and diamond ring, both have no indications of clarity enhancement.
Please note, viewing for this sale takes place at our City Centre Salerooms, SP1 3SU.
