Cartier, an Art Deco lacquer, silver gilt and diamond vanity case, 1920s, the rectangular case applied to the exterior with black lacquer, its hinged lid decorated with Indo-Persian motifs and an arched handle set with circular-cut diamonds, opening to reveal a mirror, lidded powder compartment with the engraved initials MLS, containing a Cartier powder puff, and a compartment for lipstick, measuring 5.6 x 7.6 x 2.0cm, signed Cartier, numbered 1710, French assay mark for silver, French maker's mark for Paul Pillard, sponsor's mark JC for Cartier London, lipstick deificent, fitted Case stamped Cartier Paris
