A Japanese hand-coloured albumen print depicting a young beauty holding an umbrella, her garments pulled to the side to simulate a storm, a label to the left reading 'P.51 Singing girls'; together with six other early photographs from diverse studios variously depicting a lady tuning a biwa; the portrait of a young girl with a printed uchiwa fan; three young girls dancing; a woman drinking tea; another with a flower seller and a troupe of five actors, all with hand-painted details in polychrome, all 25.5cm x 20.3cm approx.
