MEIJI PERIOD OR LATER, 19TH OR 20TH CENTURY
One depicting a cat and a butterfly by Ohara Koson (1877-1945); another entitled 'Lobster and citrus' by Kubota Beisen; the third a duck sleeping under sprays of millet and the fourth with a carp under a flowering branch of prunus; all framed and glazed, some with paper collection labels to the back indicating that they were purchased in 1902-1903 in San Francisco by Eustace Gurney, 36.5cm x 24cm max. (4)
Provenance: formerly the collection of Sir Eustace Gurney KBE (1876-1927).
