TWO JAPANESE PAINTINGS
MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY
One painted in ink and colour on silk, depicting three macaques on a gnarly branch covered with snow, their hair delicately painted and with naturalistic expression, the other in ink on paper with a tanuki racoon dog dressed as a monk, bundled up in his robes and with an expression of devotion, both signed and with two red seal marks, both in modern frames, 43cm x 17cm and 32.5cm x 20cm respectively.
