A JAPANESE TOSA SCHOOL SIX-FOLD PAPER SCREEN, BYOBU
MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY
Decorated in ink and colour on a gold paper ground, painted with a continuous design of figures in a mountainous landscape, with courtiers dressed in Heian-style garments seated on a veranda observing horse riders jousting, signed Tosa Mitsubumi (1812-1879) and with a red seal mark, 172.5cm x 366cm.
