A JAPANESE CLOISONNE VASE BY OTA TAMESHIRO
MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY
Of slender baluster form, the hexagonal foliate body with a short flared neck, decorated with shaped panels enclosing birds perched on flowering branches of chrysanthemum, hydrangea, wisteria and others, the shoulder and neck with bands of geometrical and foliate designs, stamped to the base with the flower-shaped mark for Ota Tameshiro, 15.2cm.
Provenance: from an English private collection, West Yorkshire, formed in the 1970s and 1980s.
