Naturalistically cast, the elegant bird stands with its head turned to the left, its beak slightly open; its plumage rendered in mixed metal and with the eyes inlaid in gilt, signed Masaaki underneath its tail feathers, attached to an oval black lacquer stand, 44.5cm overall.
