Of circular shape, decorated in openwork with a design of chrysanthemum leaves and stalks, the openings for scabbard accessories plugged with shakudo, inscribed Bushu-ju Akasaka, Tadatori saku, with Hozon Tosogu (Sword fitting Worthy of Preservation) certificate no.457856 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (The Society for the Preservation of the Japan Art Sword), dated 30th April 2009, in a kiri box, 7.6cm.
