MEIJI AND TAISHO PERIOD, 19TH AND 20TH CENTURY
The pear-shaped vases with elephant head-shaped handles, both decorated with panels enclosing many figures on a ground of brocade designs and geometric patterns, both signed underneath; the plate painted with many flowers and foliage, the rim with a band of shippo-tsunagi cash designs, signed to the back Dai Nihon Taizan sei for Taizan Yohei (1864-1922), 11.8cm and 24.6cm respectively.
