A JAPANESE ARITA BOTTLE VASE
EDO PERIOD, 17TH OR 18TH CENTURY
Possibly Ko-Imari, the bulbous body with a tall neck, decorated in red, green, orange and black enamels with a flowering prunus tree with symmetrical blooms, the reverse with a large butterfly, the footrim with a later mount, 25.5cm.
Provenance: formerly the collection of Lieutenant Colonel Kenneth Dingwall (1869-1946).
