AN UNUSUAL JAPANESE LACQUERED WOOD SMOKING SET
MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY
The kiseruzutsu (pipe case) of muso-zutsu form decorated with maple leaves, the en-suite tonkotsu (tobacco box) cleverly carved to simulate a tabakoire (tobacco pouch), embellished with a copper mae-kanagu shaped as a sake cup and gourd bottle, the side opening to reveal a sliding compartment with an oval aperture, together with an agate ojime, the kiseruzutsu 21.5cm.
