A JAPANESE GOLD LACQUER, SILVER AND SHIBAYAMA VASE AND COVER
MEIJI 1868-1912
The bulbous body inset with two large lobed panels edged in silver, one decorated with birds under a flowering prunus tree, one on an elaborately decorated perch, with a small stream running underneath, the other panel with Ebisu and Daikoku in an interior counting coins, with dragon handles, the foot, neck and cover decorated with stylised flowers and scrolling foliage, the cover topped with a large chrysanthemum flower, unsigned, 20.3cm.
